Saalbach Hinterglemm.Miles of Endless Freeride Routes.
Saalbach-Hinterglemm Bike Park is simply an incredible destination for mountain biking holidays, with a huge trail network. Mountain Bike Legend Richie Schley has even put his name to it and if it's good enough for him then it's good enough for anyone!
It is actually two separate towns, Hinterglemm just a bit further up the valley from Saalbach, 2 minutes in the car or 5 on the bike.
But the ‘Bike-Circus' comprises both and there are lifts that go up from both town centres.
There are trails for every level of rider ability and for every category of rider interest.
There are also over 12 single tracks trails, the Hacklberg Trail being the most famous. You can reach it from the Schattberg Xpress in Saalbach, you have to work first to get over the summit towards Hinterglemm to reach endless free flowing descent on the other side, but it is well worth the effort for one of the most beautiful singletrails in the region. With guaranteed air time and 6000m's of descent will make it unforgettable on your biking holiday.
There is a new trail being added on to the end of Hacklberg this spring which adds another 100m's of descent, we cannot wait to try it!
Kitzsteinhorn & KaprunNew Freeride & Enduro Area.
Kitzsteinhorn is new to the freeride community it only opened last year and has three freeride trails for Enduro and downhill bikers.
It is essentially one long trail spilt into 3 sections and in total is over 12 Km long! The first part F3 trail is the most tricky with burns, tabletops and many jumps it will keep expert riders entertained and push the intermediates.
There is a choice down to the bottom a steeasy trail in F1 or the quick flowing descent of F2 both offer lots of technically parts, with F1 aimed at beginners to intermediates.
Located only a 30 minute drive away above the tree line on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and on a clear day provides unsurpassed views of the region and Zell am See lake below.
