This route starts out from Maria Alm and leads on to Maishofen and Zell am See - Thumersbach. From here, it follows the banks of the Zell lake over a bridge to Taxenbach and Lend. Here, the ascent along the Dientener Bach to the Filzensattel begins, with views of the Hochkönig peak. Once here, the descent begins down to Hintertal and on to Maria Alm. Filzensattel with its highest point on the pass; of 1,290 m is located on the northwestern edge of the Salzburger Schieferalpen Apls in Pinzgau between Hinterthal and Dienten (im Pinzgau). The Hochkönig Straße (B 164) crosses the Filzensattel and is well developed with a few narrow points in places.
